Visitng The Hague, the Antiques & Book Market and more

Visiting The Hague is not a complete experience
without a visit to it's markets.

Of course you can go to the city center,
the museums and the houses of parliament.

That are places the true The Hague inhabitant would call :

Haags

But they also know there is an other part worth visiting, that part is:

Hagenees

The Hague's residents are called or even divided into:

Hagenaars and Hagenezen;
"those from the sand and those from the moor"

ask someone who lives in The Hague and
you will probably get a wonderful explination.

The Antiques and Book Market is "Haags",
because of the spot: the beautiful Lange Voorhout, on the sand

The Haagse Markt is "Hagenees" because on the moor,
but there is no moor anymore

The Haagse Markt is held every
Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday
with 500 stalls, see:

The 2016 summer season of the Antiques and Book Market The Hague will soon end

Royal Delft plates from the collection of Delta 98 Den Haag

Sadly there is no Antique & Book Market on Sunday September 18, 2016.
Thursday September 22 and Sunday September 25
are the final two days you can visit the 2016 market
on the Lange Voorhout in The Hague.

After that there is time to fantasize what you can do with your collection of antiques, collectables, vintage items and paintings.

Of course you can place it in a show case, you might like a few items on a wall,
a single piece on a pedestal or in a row on a shelf.

But there are other beautifull settings.

Last Thursday a lady from Taiwan bought some delft plates from our stand on the Antique Market and she told she had collected so many, that her husband started complaining, she asked what to do.
I told her to use them. But do not put them in the dishwasher, I told her, or, as I said, fill a wall with them. She started smiling and said: at my favorite restaurant in Taiwan they have a wall full with chinese blue and white plates !

Take a look and get inspired !
